Brazil 2014 World Cup | Cameroon vs. Brazil (Group A)

Hello everyone, my sincere apologies for the long delay. I was advised by my ICT teacher to go in earlier today to complete some work :-).

Not to worry, however, as Brazil have just broken out of the equaliser, Neymar managed to score the 2nd goal at 34 minutes. Judging by this first half, things really have got very interesting for Brazil, as the football spirit has kicked in and has also had a positive impact on Brazil overall.

I will continue to use BBC Sport up until the end of this match, as this match and the match between Croatia and Mexico both finish as the final matches of the night at roughly 10:50PM or 11:00PM. Football commentator’s quotes will be copied into this blog feed while the match unfolds (to save loss of time), and I’ll also add my own initial thoughts of this match as it happens.

Cameroon 1-4 Brazil

David Ornstein in Brasilia (BBC Sport): “Chants of “Neymar! Neymar!” engulf Estadio Nacional as Brazil retake the lead and as the 22-year-old celebrates, pointing to the heavens and asking for even more noise from the crowd, coach Scolari pulls David Luiz to the touchline and gesticulates wildly with the centre-back as he tries to get a number of points across. “Mark your man” might well be one of them.”

2ND HALF KICK OFF!!! NOW THIS MATCH IS BEGINNING TO GET INTERESTING FOR BOTH BRAZIL AND CAMEROON, AS BOTH TEAMS ARE FIGHTING TO SCORE MORE GOALS.

BRAZIL STRUCK IT LUCKY A THIRD TIME AS DAVID LUIZ HAS JUST SCORED (49′)!!!!!!!!

Former Wales Midfielder Robbie Savage: “Great start to the second half for Brazil. Hulk has to score though when he goes through on goal. The key thing for Scolari now is when to bring Neymar off, the last thing they want is to get him injured or booked and suspended.”

Jonathan Jurejko: “Back in Brasilia, the pace of the game has dropped a touch. Brazil know they are almost home and dry. But they are still searching for a fourth, Oscar pulling all the strings as they look to break down the Cameroon defence. Neymar lets a scream as his chopped down by a Cameroon defender. Is that his last action? Yes, he is replaced by Willian.”

Twitter Debate: #bbcworldcup

Paul Moore: The reason Brazil won’t win this world cup is squad depth. It is poor when Jo is your go to man when in trouble.

David Ornstein: “A standing ovation for Neymar as he makes way for Willian. The 22-year-old was walking gingerly after a heavy challenge but looked to be fine as he performed high fives with every member of Brazil’s bench. He also exited without receiving a yellow card in the match, meaning that fitness permitting he will line-up in the last 16.”

Gary Lineker: “Neymar has been marvellous again. Love his energy, skill and bottle!”

BRAZIL ARE IN HIGH SPIRITS NOW AFTER FERNANDINHO JUST SCORED!!!!!!!! (84′)

Robbie Savage: “Sensational play by Brazil. Fernandinho has been immense since he has come on. What a goal it was, great awareness, a great touch by Oscar. Fernandinho has to start in the next game.”
