The Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games | Day 1

Hahaha, WE WON GOLD!!!! Hello everyone, following on from last night’s Opening Ceremony, we have already got our first Gold in the bag. For the Triathlon event, Jodie Stimpson won England the first Gold.

So far, today has been a really good day, the weather is nice and peaceful, there is a comfortable breeze in the air, and there are medals constantly being won almost every couple of hours. As the day continues to progress, a few more events are in good hands, and in Cycling, Sir Bradley Wiggins has just won Silver in the team pursuit.

For the second Triathlon that was on earlier after the first one, England’s Alistair and Jonny Brownlee won both Gold and Silver.

Lots of medals are being won today, and hopefully, as the day begins to progress into the night, there should be a significant and astounding amount of medals to be won.

The medals for England have climbed remarkably in the first day, we’ve already won 3 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals, bringing our overall medal count to 8. Today’s events for Cycling and Triathlon have certainly given England the biggest boost it needed.

Before I conclude this blog post, I have put the allocated medal table that shows the results so far for the countries that have participated today.
