Reports recently surfaced in the news after a baby dolphin died as a result of a number of tourists that paraded around it taking photographs. The news of the baby dolphin’s death comes after it made headline news across the world and has, in the last few days, sparked untold controversy among animal rights activists.
As I share my love, passion and care for wildlife, especially for all sea creatures, I personally believe that what has taken place is absolutely distasteful and disgraceful, because I hate for an underwater sea creature to be killed just for things like this.
In the last few weeks, there have been up to 10 whales washing up on land that have died as a result of dehydration, but for this case to arise about a load of tourists parading around a baby dolphin after taking it out of the water just to pose for selfies, this is amoral and should have never been allowed to happen.
To those who took those selfies with the baby dolphin that died, I hope that nothing like this happens ever again.
To make things even worse, today, in light of the news surrounding the baby dolphin’s death just a few days before, it has been revealed that another sea creature may have quite possibly suffered the same fate, as a man was filmed pulling a shark out of the sea in Florida before he posed for some photos with it. It is unclear as to whether the shark survived as a result.
It makes me so cross to know that animal cruelty is still being committed, even though worldwide organisations, such as WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund), Greenpeace, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society and many more are trying their absolute hardest to put a stop to animal cruelty.
The breed of baby dolphin (Franciscan) that died is just one of the 31,000 that are endangered and are on the list of being ‘vulnerable to extinction’. If this kind of amoral behaviour starts occurring on a regular basis, then it will misrepresent our way of life, and will give all of us a bad name, because now that this problem regarding people parading around the baby dolphin for selfies has happened, this is just a clear representation of something that should never be allowed in the real world.
As a result of the news, the Argentinian Authorities are currently investigating the killing of the endangered baby dolphin, and there has been a lot of criticism directed at the tourists that paraded around the baby dolphin for selfies.
If you want to stop animal cruelty from occurring, I have created these stickers, one of which is a “STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY SIGN”, while the other is a geometric lion that I created last night within 5-8 hours on Microsoft PowerPoint, which was inspired by a lion template I saw on the web, and I thought it would be good to create my own version with inspiration to the lion template that I saw on the web. I’ve also designed these so that they can be downloaded for free and can be used as widgets on your blog, website or even on social networking sites.
What are your views on Animal Cruelty? How can we all put a stop to it for good? Do you think the level of security should be raised to the highest form of protection possible?
