Monthly Roundup: August 2020

This month flew so fast and it doesn’t seem possible that there’s only a few months left until the end of this year, but this year in general’s flown due to COVID and it’s changed how we all live and adapt, and it’s been heartbreaking to see everywhere around the world being brought to a standstill as a result of a global pandemic that has affected all of us physically and mentally.

The last few weeks have been busier than usual due to work and photoshoots, though I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be publishing some photography work over the next few weeks, as I’ve got three photo-sets for the mental health photography series which will be going up soon.

I was meant to put one of the photo-sets I produced last month up during August but it turned out I had a lot more work on than I anticipated and can only apologise for the delay.

I’ll quickly summarise what I published throughout August, and if you missed anything from this month, I’ll put the links to the articles below this monthly roundup.

1.8.2020 – August kicked off on a good note considering the warm weather slowly dipped following the six day heatwave we had in the lead up to the beginning of August and it was a relaxing start to the month.

3.8.2020 – Did you delve deeper into nature’s veins? I did, and it was awesome!

20.8.2020 – The next subject I photographed for the mental health photography series was Alex Maurice.

29.8.2020 – It was barely six months since she released her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia, and already the two-time Grammy Award Winner, Dua Lipa, released her first remix album with The Blessed Madonna, Club Future Nostalgia, which features a star-studded list, from the likes of the Queen of Pop, Madonna, to Jamiroquai, No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani, the legendary Missy Elliott, Mark Ronson, to BLACKPINK, and many more!

It was absolutely devastating to learn of the news that Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer at 43, as he starred in the bestselling film, Black Panther, and has left behind a remarkable legacy, and he’ll never be forgotten.

Chadwick Boseman’s legacy will forever live on, and to end this monthly roundup, I wanted to take this opportunity to pay tribute to him as he was a true inspiration to us all and he shall never be forgotten for spreading kindness and inspirational words of wisdom, and he’ll always live on forever in our hearts. My condolences go out to his family and his wife at this time.

Rest in power and peace Chadwick Boseman! We love you and will always remember you!

  1. Though im a control freak, one thing i have learnt about doing monthly audit of life is that the next month begins like with a bad omen because im in control. While if i dont do it,life flows smoothly into the next month. So im left with weekly and yearly life audits..(true story🙂
