Note: This review is an extension of the DJ Mix I reviewed on the 29th August, the day after Club Future Nostalgia was officially released by Dua Lipa & The Blessed Madonna.
Two weeks after the release of Dua Lipa & The Blessed Madonna’s Remix Album, Club Future Nostalgia, the complete release of Club Future Nostalgia which contains an additional 17 tracks, contains a few remixes that were previously unheard in The Blessed Madonna’s DJ Mix of Dua Lipa’s Club Future Nostalgia.
Having listened to The Complete Edition of Club Future Nostalgia, I can tell you both the DJ Mix and the full versions of the remixes from Club Future Nostalgia are absolutely exceptional!
As well as The Blessed Madonna Remix of Levitating, which featured Madonna & Missy Elliott, the Zach Witness Remix of Boys Will Be Boys is definitely another one of the few records that stand out because it has a Samba vibe that feels like you’re at one the biggest dance festivals in the world.
Here is the full tracklist for Club Future Nostalgia:
- Levitating (The Blessed Madonna Remix) [feat. Madonna & Missy Elliott]
- Hallucinate (Paul Woolford Remix) [Extended]
- Don’t Start Now (Kaytranada Remix)
- Physical (feat. Gwen Stefani) [Mark Ronson Remix]
- Love is Religion (The Blessed Madonna Remix)
- Break My Heart (Moodymann Remix)
- That Kind of Woman (Jacques Lu Cont Remix)
- Pretty Please (Masters at Work Remix)
- Boys Will Be Boys (Zach Witness Remix)
- Good in Bed (Gen Hoshino Remix)
- Future Nostalgia (Joe Goddard Remix)
- Love Again (Horse Meat Disco Remix)
- Cool (Jayda G Remix)
- Don’t Start Now (Yaeji Remix)
- Hallucinate (Mr. Fingers Deep Stripped Mix)
- Pretty Please (Midland Refix)
- Good in Bed (Zach Witness Remix)
The Complete Edition of Club Future Nostalgia, both the DJ Mix and the full length remixes, are exceptional and hearing Madonna on Levitating in Club Future Nostalgia, for me, felt like listening to the Confessions on a Dance Floor album and The Confessions Tour as both her album and tour were sensational and brought pop centre-stage with the club sound where all of us were dancing to Hung Up and Club Future Nostalgia on a personal level for me is a reminder of Madonna’s Confessions era.
Below is The Complete Edition of Club Future Nostalgia which can be streamed in full on Spotify:
Overall, Club Future Nostalgia is the complete package that brings back the Studio 54 sounds from the Chic era of Le Freak and the old-school sounds that define Future Nostalgia as the dance record it set out to become!
Club Future Nostalgia, including the DJ Mix produced by The Blessed Madonna with Dua Lipa, are both available to purchase on iTunes and other digital media outlets.
This is the remix album of the year and is the penultimate definition of an album that shows Dua Lipa’s full control in her own music and creative direction and I applaud her for releasing Future Nostalgia, including the remix albums as this is music that will forever be timeless and will be played in nightclubs around the world.
