Monthly Roundup: September 2022

It’s been an emotional month as the last few weeks proved the solidarity of everyone coming together after the devastating news that Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96, observing the national mourning period which lasted for ten days.

It was devastating news we didn’t think would ever come as Queen Elizabeth II recently celebrated 70 years since her ascension to the throne in 1952 during the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations on the 2nd of June, making her the longest reigning monarch.

I’ll admit, as soon as the news broke of her passing, I, like everyone else, was instantly numb from the shock trying to process the devastating news as I found out while on the journey home from work, and the first thing I did as soon as I got home was I changed the colours of this website to black and royal purple to pay my respects to Her Majesty The Queen.

As a result, I decided to pause all content I originally intended to post on here until after the state funeral and national mourning period concluded as I wanted to pay tribute as the news of her passing was and always will be raw for all of us.

To be honest, even though the state funeral and national mourning period concluded, even now, I’m still trying to process the reality of it all, but like every single one of us, it will take such a long time to come to terms and accept the reality that Queen Elizabeth II is no longer around, and it will be a long time before the United Kingdom can move forward.

As I want to keep this monthly roundup simplified, I’ll quickly summarise the posts/tribute/photos published throughout September.

1.9.2022 – It was a relaxing and peaceful start to the month, and as Summer slowly drew to a remarkable close, Autumn wasn’t too far behind as the Autumn Equinox would begin on the 23rd of September, with the days slowly but surely getting darker in the evening.

8.9.2022 – It broke my heart to announce the news that Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, died at 96.

24.9.2022 – Mother Nature always finds a way to bring peace, comfort and warmth; her glow during the golden hour saturates the landscape in the distance, forming a gorgeous silhouette of the trees.

28.9.2022 – Emotions make us all feel connected and at one with nature, and nature’s feelings are no different; the raindrops are tears that make mother nature teary-eyed and vulnerable.

It goes without saying that this month has been one of the most emotional months for all of us, but it is a turning point in our lives where we will all have to accept that HRM Queen Elizabeth II’s passing has changed all of our lives instantly, but she will never ever be forgotten, and her legacy shall forever live on.

To conclude, I wanted to say that she’ll forever live on in our hearts, and her legacy will always be remembered for the positive impact she has left on all of us.

If you missed anything from the last few weeks, don’t worry as the links to what I posted throughout September can be found below.
