Monthly Roundup: July 2017

This month certainly has been busier than the last, though I have been working on finding jobs in the meantime, whilst also trying to fit a few articles in. I can only apologise again for being less frequent with publishing articles, I’ve been making sure to prioritise my time more on finding a job whilst also going out and enjoying myself with friends following the end of my time in education at Croydon College.

I will be publishing some articles over the next few weeks but please keep in mind that it might be less frequent depending on how busy I have been lately considering I am searching around for jobs, so I can only apologise if I don’t publish articles as much.

Without further ado, I will take a look back at the articles I have published over the course of July.

1.7.2017 – Welcoming you all to July on Mother Nature, I described that the weather was expected to be getting much hotter and more humid, whilst also mentioning that I would be looking around for jobs considering that my time at Croydon College had almost reached the end.

14.7.2017 – This day officially marked the end. My education came to a remarkable close as I finished my final year at Croydon College. The end result from my final year of the two-year UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma Film & Photography Course was that I passed with my final grade being a Pass.

25.7.2017 – After hearing about the beautifully artistic mural that the artist, Bareface, had produced of the late music legend, Amy Winehouse, who sadly passed away at the age of 27 on the 23rd July 2011, on the Croydon Advertiser, I just could not resist seizing the opportunity to photograph the mural.

31.7.2017 – Would you find it hard to believe that it was exactly 21 years ago since Crash Bandicoot graced our screens? Remember the days where you would jump over obstacles, smash through boxes and tackle side-scrolling levels? Well, those days are finally back! As the Crash Bandicoot: N⋅Sane Trilogy is back to true form, with all three of the original Crash Bandicoot games completely remastered from scratch.

Well, those days are finally back! As the Crash Bandicoot: N⋅Sane Trilogy is back to true form, with all three of the original Crash Bandicoot games completely remastered from scratch.

Also, to kick off my own photography series, titled: “The Concept of Expression”, I photographed two close friends of mine as I mentioned I would be intending to explore the concept of expression, as well as to how a facial expression can alter or change the mood of a photograph. In this case, the two close friends I photographed for my own photography series were Saviyon Thomas & Shaquille Roachford.

Thank you so much for such a great month. It’s been quite a busy month but it sure has been a great one.

Thanks again for such a great month and I shall see you all in August!

Welcome to January!

Welcome to January on Mother Nature! Happy New Year Everyone! 2017 has officially opened its doors and the New Year begins with high spirits. The firework display in London paid tribute to the iconic music legend, Prince Rogers Nelson, including the Thin White Duke himself, David Bowie and even the comedy legend, Ronnie Corbett, the man of mighty humour.

Ringing in the celebrations of 2017, 2017 will be a year of looking forward to the future, and is also the year to never look back but to look forward and to enjoy life and also to enjoy the future.

Breaking the tradition with Spotify, instead of Mother Nature having one new mix every year, there will be one mix from this year onwards that will continuously be updated, as I have finally decided to do away with the old tagline: “The Mix of…” in favour for: “Alex’s Mix”. This is because after a while, constantly replacing a Spotify playlist year after year just eventually gets boring, so now, my new mix playlist is called: “Alex’s Mix” and will remain a permanent fixture on this website from today onwards.

Over the course of this year, I will be making sure to dedicate a whole lot more of my own time to my studies considering I have only 6 months left until I finish my time at Croydon College, including finishing education altogether, which is not far away, so I will be making sure to make use of the time wisely by working hard and to also achieve the best I can from my studies, but to also succeed in my education and to get myself a job after I finish education permanently. However, I will be making sure to find the free time when it becomes available to publish articles on here so that I can be sure that none of you are going to miss out.

I won’t lie, I will miss being in education and will miss Croydon College when me and everyone else reach the end of the road, because I love everyone so much, even everyone at my college, because Croydon College including everyone who goes to my college are the reason why I want a fantastic future and are also the reason why I want to have a fantastic life. My family and my friends mean everything to me and without them, I wouldn’t be in a good place now. I feel so fortunate and so lucky to have everyone by my side because I want a fantastic future and a fantastic life and I am so fortunate to have everyone there to support me. But again, Croydon College have given me a reason to want to have a good future and a good life and I am glad Croydon College was my first choice, as I have excelled so well and my time at Croydon College has gone so fast that I actually don’t want to leave.

Life goes on and I can say this for once in my life, 2017 is a year of finally moving on and to just enjoy yourself, but most of all, is also the year to just be happy and to enjoy life.

The sidebar has been tidied up a bit and I have done away with some widgets that are no longer relevant, but Mother Nature gets a better shade of blue, as I have made sure to change the colour so it appeals to 2017 and to make for better visibility on Laptops / PCs, including on smartphones, tablets and consoles.

To kick off 2017, I just want to say:

LET’S MAKE THIS YEAR A SPECIAL ONE!

Welcome to May!

Welcome to May on Mother Nature! As the next couple of weeks are set to get warmer considering that Summer is just a few weeks away, it’s great to say that the weather is finally looking up. Today has actually been a lovely day and I hope this lovely weather continues.

Over the course of this month, I will be very busy with my college studies, but this may mean I’ll be publishing articles less frequently than I did last month, considering last month was extremely productive, but fear not, as I will be heading up to London on Tuesday 10th May to the Barbican Gallery where Madonna was a few weeks ago as I will be going to see an exhibition that comprises of over 250 intuitive works produced by Martin Parr.

As you can imagine, I’m really excited about the trip, though I will be making sure to be cautious about the photographs I will take as I have been given notification that some parts of the Barbican Gallery are okay for taking photographs, whereas some parts of the gallery are restricted in terms of photography, due to security reasons of course which is what I’ve taken into full consideration.

Over the course of this month, I will be focusing more on my studies, but also revision as I have two of the most important GCSE English exams coming up next month and I will be making sure to dedicate a lot of my time to revising as I want to stand a good chance of passing this time around. I will try, however, to fit time in now and then to publish articles on Mother Nature, as I want to make sure I can keep everything balanced so that nothing goes haywire whilst I’m studying or writing articles.

Until then, Welcome to May!

HELLO EVERYONE…I’M BACK!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, after 5 very long months of intense revision, exams and loads of coursework, I’m back!!! I have missed blogging a lot, but it just feels so good to get back into the swing of things. Thank you for all the awards and wonderful messages all of you have sent in to my blog, it has made me feel 16 years old and a true pleasure. I love you all :-).

As I begin to adjust back to blogging, I’m currently reeling from finishing school, as I finished my last ever exam on Friday 13th. There were a lot of tears as you could imagine, for me, I cried a bit on my way home from school, as the feeling hit me straight away that I was going to miss everyone. The best thing though was getting a lot of photos with everyone, even a few of the teachers, as this meant I could round off the last 5 years of going to Oasis Academy: Shirley Park on a wonderful note.

As today is my 16th birthday, I wanted to mark this wonderful occasion in thanking you all for your love and support over the year this blog has been around, and I also want to thank my two main role models, Rhys Brown and Zofia Niemtus for their support as well, as I wouldn’t have got so far in life. Thank you everyone, I couldn’t have done it without you all.

In light of the exam season that has just finished, I wanted to take the opportunity to mark an important milestone for Mother Nature | Life at the touch of a button. On Friday 6th June, Mother Nature celebrated 1 year of being around, and also celebrates my first proper year in blogging…again, thanks everyone :-).

What have I done since I’ve been away over the long hiatus?

Since I’ve been away from blogging, I took the opportunity to go to Shirley Hills in April to get some photos, and it was an absolute pleasure going there, because the weather around me was just right, the atmosphere was tranquil, meaning not only was it peaceful, but it also felt like you could live there. Just going to the viewpoint felt surreal, as the viewpoint gave me a don’t-look-down kind of moment, when you consider just how high up it really was.

As well as Shirley Hills, I revisited Kelsey Park after almost a year, and it felt like a welcome of open arms, as the weather felt heartwarming and comfortable to walk through, seeing the ducks, geese and squirrels again was an absolute pleasure, as I missed going there after a long while.

In the lead up to my last ever day of school, I have worked my absolute socks off to revise for these exams. You could say I was under a hell of a lot of stress and was tired, but, I was determined never to give up, and gave every exam 110% and made sure I fight for the grades. I wasn’t going to let the exam stress get to me, so I fought through it, and I got there in the end.

Two good top tips for those entering the exam season next year:

    • Make sure to have some food before the exam as it will keep your mind-set fresh and focused on the exams you have.
    • Always take a water bottle into the exam you have if you’re allowed, as it will prevent you getting dehydrated and worried during the exam.

To round off this blog post, I will be publishing another blog post at 3:00pm of Shirley Hills, which will talk about, almost what I’ve already mentioned in this blog post, but will go a little more in-depth.

Thank you for the long awaited blog comeback, and I will make sure to publish the Shirley Hills blog post at 3:00PM…stay tuned, as I’ve got a lot of new things to add to this blog over the next couple of weeks.

To finish off this blog post, I wanted to leave you all with this video of Cheryl Cole’s new video, it will make you want to listen to this video again and again, it’s addictive:

“Crazy Stupid Love (feat. Tinie Tempah)”

Thank you for reading this blog post, and welcome back :-)!!!!!!!!
