Welcome to December!

Welcome to December! It’s hard to believe it’s the last 4 weeks of the year and the time has flown! I hadn’t anticipated for the time to fly so fast, but it’s been a whirlwind of a year.

As 2018 closes its doors for good at the end of the month, it’s hardly surprising that this year has been the busiest year on record.

Over the next few weeks, I will be continuing to apply for more jobs, but I will be doing the best I can to try and get some articles / photo moments / reviews in if I can, but I hope you all wrap up warm over the next few weeks and enjoy the Christmas festive season now it’s finally here!

Mother Nature gets a small makeover just in time for the festive season!

Also, today is World AIDS Day, so if you are someone or know someone who is going through the life-threatening disease, please make sure to raise awareness and make a positive difference for anyone who may be HIV+, as it’s time the world made a difference. Know Your Status!

Until then, Welcome to December!

The Super Moon of Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Eve, I had noticed the moon was somewhat bigger than its usual size, and I thought it would be a good idea to take a photograph of it with my Nikon D3300 DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex). I was really surprised though, because I had to often miss this opportunity of taking a photograph of the moon, considering that in the past year, there were certain times at night that you could see it, as well as the Equinox Solar Eclipse that took place on the 20th March 2015.

Before I took this photo, I was really surprised about how big the moon was, because I hadn’t actually seen how big it was before, considering that almost each night, it would be covered due to the bad weather that was often forecast, but please forgive me if the moon doesn’t look big because of the way I took the photo. I’ll provide three of the same photo, but with one being zoomed in, with another being zoomed in further, so that it’s a lot easier to view.

I’ve made sure to keep this short because I wanted to show you all that this was my first attempt at taking a photo of the moon, considering I only used the lens that came with the camera when I got it over a year ago.

Please feel free to feedback what you thought of my first attempt at taking a photo of the moon, if possible, please also feel free to suggest to me what I can improve on for next time. Your feedback is much appreciated.

Welcome to December!!! A Month Full of Festivities, Happiness and Comfort.

Welcome back to Mother Nature everyone, for the final month of the year that draws 2014 to a close. It’s hard to believe it was a year ago I did my first 6 months of publishing articles, and to come this far, it’s absolutely amazing. Though, despite a stressful 8 months, what with the exam season which has come and gone, and with a 12 week holiday that went too fast, I can spend the last 2-3 weeks finalising my art work for my course, and then spending the last few weeks of 2014 relaxing and publishing articles.

You have just witnessed a Christmas makeover of the Mother Nature logo, including the background, as I wanted to make sure that Mother Nature got a proper, full-on design that would make this website completely Christmassy.

As 2014 draws to a close, I want to make sure that 2014 goes out with a bang, and with 2014 being a stressful year, it has also been a successful year not just for me, but also for everyone else, as this year determined everyone’s future, considering the fact that all of us would be collecting our results. This would, in turn, determine whether any of us would have a future at college or sixth form. Thankfully, this year has been kind to us, as we passed our exams with flying colours.

Over the course of the Christmas holiday, I will be publishing the last few articles of 2014, and I will also be continuing work on my 3rd book: “My Journey Through a Lens”. This new book will be the biggest follow-up to the 2nd book, as it will contain not just the photos that I have taken with my Nikon D3300 DSLR, but it will also contain segments of articles I have published on here, certain articles that I have done a lot of research for.

Christmas is a time for festivities, and also for the whole family to come together to mark such a special occasion, including the day when everyone opens their Christmas presents on Christmas morning.

I love Christmas, as it feels like the right time to just relax, wrap up warm and feel at home. Christmas is also a special time for me, as I always aim to keep myself in the loop when it comes to crafting and publishing articles on Mother Nature. The joys of Christmas I love is being able to play games, listen to music, and also write, and with the New Year just around the corner, this comes as the perfect time to say:

“WELCOME TO DECEMBER!!! ENJOY YOUR CHRISTMAS AND HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR :-)!!!!”

Thank you for reading this article.

The Silhouette of Darkness, Light & Wonderwebs – Painting + Video

Hello everyone!! I have been using the Colors! application on the iPad mini I got today as a Christmas present, and created this Silhouette painting of the Rosebud in darkness, it took 15 minutes approximately to create this, as I wanted to go into a bit more detail with the clouds and the sun rays, so I made the clouds look almost completely dark to show the cloud formation, and the sun rays I wanted to blend the sky in a little more to show two different sides to the painting.

The video of yesterday’s storm is currently uploading now, so fingers crossed it doesn’t take as long as it did last night. Feel free to save the painting to your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to use as a wallpaper.

Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful Happy Christmas!!!

The Calm After the Storm & The Christmas Eve Rainfall

Following the torrential wind and rain from yesterday, the UK had a short, but massive rainstorm which lasted for about 2 to 5 minutes, which is a massive relief, but hopefully this weather should be the last of what we see for this year as 2013 draws to a remarkable close.

Below are some photos I took today of the horrid weather and also a few photos of the rainbow just as the bad weather was beginning to clear.

Note: You may notice a slight difference in some of the photos as I changed the ISO (International Standards Organisation) setting for a few of the photos so that they had different view points.

2 Role Models that Inspired me the Most + Nominations

I also wanted to mention 2 people who inspired me the most to set up this Photography blog. My best mate, Rhys Brown inspired me and is always a role model who I can always look up to, as I asked what his thoughts were on creating this photography blog, he thought it was a brilliant idea, and I jumped at this opportunity whilst I still could, and I owe him a massive thank you for inspiring me to create this blog. Without him, I wouldn’t have got this many views in 6 months, and I owe him another massive thank you for it, he will always be one of my best mates no matter what. To follow my best mate Rhys on Twitter, here’s the link: https://twitter.com/TheRealRizzyy

The 2nd and final person who inspired me the most as well was my previous form tutor who I had since I was in Year 9 & Year 10, her name is Zofia Niemtus (though I call her Miss Niemtus as my way of showing her respect) and was a teacher who also inspired me to create this nature blog. I asked Miss Niemtus a month before she left my school to work elsewhere whether she thought it was a good idea to create a blog, and she also thought it was a brilliant idea too, so I created this blog, and over the course of June Miss Niemtus asked me to send the link of this blog to her so she could present it to everyone in my form class. I was like a bag of nerves when she mentioned my blog to everyone, as I was worried to how my friends would react, but the overall outcome of my old form tutor was positive as everyone thought this blog was really good.

Overall, I would love to say a massive thank you to these 2 people for inspiring me the most, without them, this blog wouldn’t be in existence, but I’m absolutely thankful my best mate Rhys and also my old form tutor Miss Niemtus got me this far, they have inspired me to do more, and they both deserve the best. Thanks guys, and have a very Happy Christmas :-)!!!

Here is another blog post morsel for you to digest :-)!!!

———————————————————————————————————————————-

As these first 6 months have been perfect for this blog, along with my 2 role models who inspired me the most to create this blog, I wanted to create a follow-up and also wanted to take the opportunity to nominate 3 bloggers for the Blog of the Year 2013 award. These 3 bloggers helped me to beat my target of getting 1000 views before 2013 draws to a close, so I want to nominate these 3 bloggers for their constant efforts on creating posts every day, keeping their blogs in a constant loop cycle.

Below are the instructions on how you can nominate a fellow blogger of your choice for the Blog of the Year 2013 Award:

Here are the instructions (as written by Ann):-

1-Select the blog(s) you think deserve the Blog Of The Year 2013 Award.

2-Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen- there are no minimum or maximum number of blogs required- and ‘present’ the blog(s) with their award.

3-Let the blog(s) that you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the instructions with them- (please don’t alter the instructions or the badges!)

4-Come over and say hello to the originator of the Blog Of The Year 2013 Award via this link: http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/blog-awards-2-/blog-of-the-year-2013-award/

5-You can now also join the Blog Of The Year Award Facebook Page. Click the link here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlogoftheYear

Share your blog posts with an even wider audience.

6-And as a winner of the award- please add a link back to the blog that presented you with this award-and then proudly display the award on your blog- and start collecting stars!

The 3 people I have nominated for this award are:

1. Vijay Shah of HalfEatenMind: Vijay is a great blogging friend and also a fantastic blogger. Occasionally I keep Vijay up-to-date on the latest blog posts I’ve published so I’m absolutely sure Vijay never misses out on the latest blog posts. The blog, HalfEatenMind is based around all the current affairs, life and also a timeline of events that are currently occuring now. The overall outcome?? Vijay make sure his posts are always effective, and makes sure every post is perfect. Vijay deserves a nomination for the Blog of the Year 2013 award, as he as inspired me to make my blog better in many different ways, and in effect, Vijay has a fantastic blog. To visit Vijay’s HalfEatenMind blog, here’s the link: halfeatenmind.wordpress.com.

2. Petrel41 (Kitty) of Dear Kitty. Some Blog.: Petrel41 is also a great blogging friend, as her blog is all based around the wide arrays of life, and every blog post she publishes talks about something that is new, something different and also something interesting. Every blog post goes in-depth, as Kitty wants to make sure her posts are effective and fresh to read new. The overall outcome?? The blog is very descriptive and is also a lot more different, as it focuses more on almost everything. Petrel41 also deserves a nomination for the Blog of the Year 2013 award as she has also inspired me to make my blog even better, and the overall finish is that her blog is also fantastic. To visit Kitty’s Blog, Dear Kitty. Some Blog., here’s the link: dearkitty1.wordpress.com

3. Ajay of Ajaytao2010 | My Personal Opening to the World: …and finally, Ajay is a great blogging friend who, instead of making a blog post big and effective, always keeps his blog posts short, using a wide array of different quotes for every photo he takes, and also makes sure every small blog post is always effective and suitable to anyones standard. Overall, I found this blog to be really interesting, as Ajay’s blog is more on the wild side, he loves to show his own personal openings with the world. He creates more of a substantial effect in every short blog post he creates, and is always making sure the photos he takes are perfectly immaculate with every single pixel and detail. Ajay loves to aim for the perfect, final finish. Ajay also deserves a nomination for the Blog of the Year 2013 award as he also inspired me to make my blog tidier, effective and more detail, and the overall outcome of his blog is also fantastic. To visit Ajay’s blog, Ajaytao2010 | My Personal Opening to the World, here’s the link: http://ajaytao2010.wordpress.com/

To finish, I want to say that these 3 bloggers I have nominated deserve to win the Blog of the Year 2013 award for all their hard work, and contributions to their own blogs. I recommend having a look at all 3 blogs, as Vijay, Petrel41 and Ajay love to keep their blogs looking fresh, new and different to make you feel comfortable at ease.

Thank you for reading, and on that final note to round off 2013, have a very Happy Christmas!!!!!!!!!!

Check back on the 1st January 2014 for the new Twenty Fourteen blog layout :-)!!!!!!!!!
