Darkroom Experiments: My Photograms

Last October just gone, during the course of the Light Play Project, I did some darkroom experiments, as this was my first time using darkroom materials, considering I had never done this before.

As you can imagine, for me, this was a difficult process to start with, considering I had never done this before, but after spending some time developing my skills with the darkroom, that’s including getting used to being in near-dark conditions, especially as the lights would be switched to red, which is useful for producing black and white prints, with that being said, I was able to produce my first ever set of photograms on this course.

I must admit, it was difficult to start with, but after I got used to working in the darkroom, I really enjoyed developing my darkroom experiment skills.

Below are the set of photograms that I produced at college last October. Please keep in mind that I edited a few of them in Adobe Photoshop as it was a part of my coursework for the Light Play Project, which connects to the UAL Level 3 Diploma Film & Photography Course that I’m on at Croydon College.

I wanted to showcase the work I’ve done at college on here for you all to see, as I felt that it was right to show you all my creativity of what I did for my course, which also brings good news. Just a few short weeks ago, I was given the result for the first four units of my course, and I’m pleased to say that I have officially passed the first four units of the first year of my two-year UAL Level 3 Diploma Film & Photography Course.
