YES!!!!!!!! WE WON THE GLASGOW 2014 XX COMMONWEALTH GAMES WOOHOO!!!!!!!!
Hello everyone, to mark the end of the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games, the journey to the top is now at an end for all of us, as England have finished at the top of the medal table in first place with the final, overall amount of 174 medals (58 Gold, 59 Silver & 57 Bronze), with Australia following closely behind with the final, overall medal amount of 137 medals (49 Gold, 42 Silver & 46 Bronze).
For the final time, I will do a short, but quick summary based on the last of the Commonwealth Games event’s that just finished today as they unfolded.
- Wales’ Thomas and England’s Armitstead wins the Cycling golds for today’s final event.
- In Squash, Australia wins Gold in the Men’s Doubles – which marks the last ever, and final medal of the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games.
- England finish at the top of the medal table with 58 Golds, while Scotland finished with 19 Golds. Wales finished with 5 Golds, with Northern Ireland finishing with 2 Golds.
- 4,750 athletes overall competed over the 11 days leading up to the Closing Ceremony today for 261 Gold medals.
- The Closing Ceremony is due to start at 9:00PM.

England really excelled themselves well for this year’s 20th Commonwealth Games, every other Commonwealth country did absolutely well, this year’s Commonwealth Games will be remembered for many years to come.
